4E Change of heart
by AJ
Well, as bad as round 1 was, I've never been known for giving up so easily.

So despite the rest of the groups desire to kick 4E to the curb, I wanted 1 more shot at it with a different group.

Well, things are different. Instead of the bad experience I had the first time the second one was quite the opposite. It was very good. Although I still see a little hypocracy in the WOTC stance of making combat quicker with 3.5 and then slower with 4E. If they changed their mind, so be it. But at least admit that you changed your mind.

For all intent and purpose I like a lot of the changes that involve the merging and simplifying of skills and Saves. I also like the change to a square measument system. It makes it much easier to move diagonally especially for younger and newer players. And I do like the fact that combat lasts more than 2 rounds. Also it seems there is a handle on the uber builds much better than what 3.5 had even in it's early days.

So with a second shot. 4E does have some good things to offer. It doesn't mean I'm giving up 3.5 altogether. I think if anything WOTC outta have some sort of 3.5 recycle system... I mean cmon, save some trees or something.

Moving right along
by AJ
Sooooo, after a 3.5 campaign ended rathly badly. Unless you are a certain gnome wizard and 2 lady sorceress. Soceri,,,, or whatever the plural is on that.

We started another 3.5 campaign and that one ended in a Total Party Kill recently. 1 blue dragon, and Nobody makes a saveing throw can spell doom.... Oh well, somtimes that's where the dice fall.

I've started playing with some new faces in a 4E campaign and have welcomed back an old buddy from days of old. And my brother and younger daughter have started playing. So life is pretty good.

I'm actually ready to start DMing a 4E campaign now that I've had a better experience playing. And the current 4E campaign I'm in has been a lot of fun thus far.

So things are still moving along nicely at the Game Room.

Not many additions to speak of, but I've had a few visitors over the last few months and all have been very impressed with the table and room, and have been excellent guests.
